Special Thanks

From Emily Cheung

As I reflect on my journey as an artistic director, I am filled with immense gratitude for the incredible support and encouragement I have received. It is with great pleasure that I express my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you.

First and foremost, I want to acknowledge William Lau, the founder of this remarkable company. His decision to entrust me with this role has allowed me to dream and envision new opportunities for dancers in Toronto. William, your belief in my vision is deeply appreciated.

To the Board of Directors (BOD), I extend my sincere gratitude. Your unwavering support has been my strength during challenging times. Your belief in our collective mission has fueled my determination to carry on and create a positive impact.

My dedicated staff—our arts manager Lina, coordinator Janice, and especially our Executive Director Victor—deserve special recognition. Their tireless efforts and commitment have contributed significantly to the success of our company. Victor, your support has been invaluable.

The dance community and individual artists have been my inspiration. Collaborating with you all has brought immense joy and countless memories. Together, we have created magic on stage, and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such talented individuals.

Lastly, I want to express my heartfelt thanks to my family—Dickson and Markus—for understanding the demands of an artist’s life. Their unwavering support has allowed me to pursue my passion wholeheartedly. To my parents, sister, and in-laws, thank you for your understanding and encouragement.

Being an artist is a unique journey, and I am fortunate to have such a wonderful community around me. Let us continue to create, inspire, and uplift one another.

Special thanks to our volunteers Cindy Chang, Glenda Wang and Koren Lui. This year, we are supporting a very young composer Donavan Woo, his music has been played preshow and during intermission. Bravo to our new stage manager, Victoria Tomei, whom I had the privilege of getting to know through an audition. She was quickly recruited as a dancer, and I am proud of her versatility in learning new skills that will undoubtedly serve her well.

Funders and Sponsors

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to a number of esteemed agencies and organizations whose unwavering support has been instrumental in the success of our endeavors. First and foremost, we express our appreciation to the Canada Council for the Arts, whose commitment to fostering creativity and the arts has made a profound impact on our work. Likewise, we are indebted to the Ontario Arts Council and the Government of Ontario, whose generous contributions have not only enabled us to thrive but have also contributed significantly to the cultural richness of our community.

In addition to these government entities, we wish to acknowledge the invaluable support of the Toronto Arts Council, whose dedication to promoting artistic expression at the local level has played a pivotal role in our achievements. Furthermore, we are immensely grateful to the National Ballet Company for their Open Space program and donation, which have bolstered our artistic endeavors in ways that words cannot fully convey.

It is through the collaborative efforts and generosity of these agencies and organizations that we are able to continue our mission of nurturing and advancing the arts. Their support has not only provided us with the means to pursue our creative aspirations but has also strengthened the cultural fabric of our society. We remain deeply thankful for their unwavering commitment to the arts and their belief in our vision.
